Common uses

How to use this medication

Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. It must be used regularly and continuously to maintain its beneficial effects. Be sure to keep an adequate supply on hand.

If you forget a dose, simply skip it and then take the next dose at the regularly scheduled time. This medication is more effective if taken with food. Always take it with a meal or a snack.

This medication contains sodium. Consider this intake if you are on a low-sodium diet.

Possible side effects

In addition to its desired action, this medication may cause some side effects, notably:

• it may cause anemia (low red blood cells);
• it may decrease your appetite;
• it may alter your sense of taste;
• it may lower your white blood cell count, which can lead to fever, chills, sore throat or infections -- if you experience any of these symptoms, contact your doctor right away;
• it can lower blood platelet count, which could lead to increased bleeding;
• it can affect the menstrual cycle.

Storage information
